|The Farm||We are seeking a keen stockperson/general farm work to support team on this 600 cows grass-based herd. The herd calf September to March plus beef unit.|
|The Role||The position is for a reliable and enthusiastic to complete day-to-day routine alongside the rest of the team. Assisting with a proportion of the milking, of which the milkings are split into two shifts. This role will involve relief milking every other weekend (which would be 7 am start, completing half the morning milking routine and then afternoon milking). All other daily work would be a mix of other duties including calf rearing, feeding, bedding, yard work, herd work, and stock work duties, with this unit running 1000 head of youngstock, which is housed in a newly built dedicated beef shed - so beef stock work involved with this beef unit will also be included in the role.
This role is a mixed role, minimum milking duties, beef stock work including calf rearing, tractor duties and general farm work.
Work pattern would be looking at approximately 50-60hr week.
|The Applicant||The successful candidate will be confident and have previous experience of working around dairy cows or basic milking experience as a minimum. The is a team role, so must be flexible and versatile to complete a mixed role.|
