Forestry Role located in a Wexford Nursery

The Role

A full-time or part-time position based in a forest nursery in South Wexford, offering €13.50 per hour., ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor, hands-on work. The role involves a variety of seasonal tasks such as planting, harvesting, grading saplings, covering beds with netting, and weeding. Work is directed by nursery supervisors or managers and changes with the seasons, ensuring variety and avoiding repetition.

Key duties include:

  • Carrying out nursery practices such as planting, harvesting, grading, covering, and weeding.
  • Following instructions from supervisors and managers.
  • Working effectively as part of a team.
  • Maintaining reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Following health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Being flexible to assist at other bases if required.

Standard working hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, but flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends is essential.

The Applicant

The ideal candidate will be practical, hardworking, and comfortable working outdoors throughout the year.

Essential qualities:

  • Genuine enjoyment of outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Pride and care in carrying out tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to seasonal changes.

Desirable:

  • Experience in tractor driving and basic maintenance (advantageous but not essential).
