The Farm | This is a great farm on in the heart of Co. Waterford. Running 280 British Friesian Spring calving cows the farm has ambitious plans to continuously upgrade herd metrics and performance. |
The Role | We are looking for a Herd Manager to take charge of the all aspects of the ongoing herd improvement programme. It is envisaged that the successful applicant will work closely with the farm owners to achieve herd objectives. There will however be lots of scope for him/her to shape the overall direction of travel of the enterprise. Key areas of focus will be soil health, nutrient management, grassland management, grass measurement, milk yield, milk quality, animal health, reproductive performance and parlour hygiene. |
The Applicant | A successful applicant will need to be confident that he/ she has the experience to make a solid contribution to achieving the objectives outlined above. He/She will be able to demonstrate previous achievement in these areas and will have the ability to work well in a small and close knit team that is not afraid to challenge it`s members to optimise group performance. They will be able to communicate effectively in English and will have a current driving licence |
