|Job Role||Herd Manager in Bristol Ref: 2319|
|The Farm||220 High yielding Holstein cows, 12,000 litres from 2x day milking, zero grazed. A new modern set up approximately 8-year-old with milking competed through a 24:24 DeLaval Parlour with Del-Pro, Uniform Agri records. The herd is NMR recorded. Sand cubicles, auto scrapers, high/low groups, dry cows, transition and young stock.
There is a dedicated young stock person, so needed to just oversee the calves and heifers.
|The Role||The role will require the successful candidate to manage the herd, milking routine, record keeping and manage people both staff and students.
|The Applicant||The applicant must be genuinely able to manager high yielding cows and complete all the tasks associated with herd health and care. The ability to milk twice daily and manager the relief staff when required and take charge in the farm managers absence.

The farm is part of the School of Veterinary Science, so there is an emphasis on student participation and research studies. Brand new machinery for associated tasks. CPD is encouraged as is farmers discussion groups.
