|The Farm||This 400 hundred acre farm is set in beautiful Co. Waterford on the South Coast of Ireland. It is a well run progressive family farm with a record of continuous improvement and ambitious targets for the future.|
|The Role||Is ideally suited for a couple or a pair who are prepared to hit the ground running in the peak season of January and sustain a high tempo of operations all the way through to June 2020. The successful applicants will be able to quickly be capable of running the milking operation from start to finish, look after the feeding and the husbandry of the calves on the farm. As most of the major machinery operations on the farm are contracted out there is not a requirement for advanced machinery acumen. Milking is done in a 14 unit double up herringbone and is streamlined to complete milking in less that 1.5 hours morning and evening.
|The Applicant||Primarily the successful applicants must be a capable milker who can quickly assume full responsibility of the milking operation. He/she will need to be fully competent on other general farm roles such as bedding, scraping, and looking after livestock.
|Accommodation||A well appointed 3 bed roomed house adjacent to the farm is provided|
As this is a very rural area it would be recommended that successful applicants should have some means of transport such as a car or a motor bike. There is very limited public transport servicing this farm
