The Role

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and skilled Assistant Landcare Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a modern farm and private family estate.

The successful candidate will report to the Landcare Manager and the Estate Manager


Key Duties Include

  • Support the Head of Landcare with daily farm planning and operational activities
  • Oversee animal management, including feeding, care, health, and welfare
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain farm machinery, equipment, facilities, and infrastructure
  • Maintain accurate records relating to livestock, feed, medication, and farm activities
  • Support staff, providing guidance and supervision as required on all estate-related projects
  • Assist with procurement and inventory control
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and site regulations
  • Assist with the planning, establishment, and implementation of landscape developments
  • Communicate professionally with staff, contractors, suppliers, and visitors
  • Ability to work both independently while remaining a part of a team and flexible to assist where required while taking instruction to ensure smooth and continuous operations


Work Hours

  • 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (8am–5pm)
  • Weekend work based on shared rotation to support animal welfare and continuity of farm operations
The Applicant

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in farming and/or landscaping or building trades
  • Strong knowledge of livestock husbandry, animal health, and welfare standards
  • Full clean driving licence (trailer licence an advantage)
  • CSCS Plant Certification (Safe Pass an advantage)
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Confident proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and associated tools
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
