In 2002, following extensive research and planning, Farm Solutions Ltd established a recruitment base in Ukraine. Close co-operation with Farm Advisory Training Centres throughout Ukraine gave us access to many and varied farming people from this vast agricultural country.

In late 2003, with the imminent accession of 10 new countries to the EU on May 1st 2004, a directive was issued by The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment to employers of farm workers. This encouraged the future sourcing of such workers from within the new enlarged EU countries. This led to the discontinuation of recruitment from Ukraine and the further development of recruitment sources in Hungary, Slovakia & Poland which is ongoing in 2009.
